About
us Deborah Falck is the founder of Design Presence,
a consulting firm specializing in visual design and education. Design
solutions based on a deep appreciation of users needs, implementation
of fundamental design principals and emphasis on teamwork are the guiding
ideals of Design Presence. By applying these principles to her work over
the past 25 years, she brought forward visual design expertise into the
development of information technology products. The focus of visual design
based on user needs is now considered one of the most important ingredients
of a user's experience with products and technology.
Ms Falck has received numerous design awards and
patents for her work. She has studied with pioneers in the field of design
and innovation, including Muriel Cooper, Milton Glaser, Ati Gropius Johansen
and William Porter. Ms Falck holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Boston University
and completed the special program in Human Factors Engineering from the
University of Michigan.
At Digital Equipment Corporation, she had a distinguished
career developing innovative designs and leading teams in producing effective
visual design solutions for user interface design, information design and
branding for identity systems. At The Architect's Collaborative, she produced
casebooks containing the city plans and a traveling exhibition for development
of the city of Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
In 1997 she formed Design Presence. Her clients
include Adobe Systems, AllScripts, Cisco Systems, Dictaphone Healthcare, EMC, Intuit, Lotus Development Corporation, The MIT Department of Design and Architecture, Phillips Lifeline and Verizon Labs.
